This is a known issue. Currently VIDIAL is setup for one-step Facebook Login, and attempting to "Sign Up" with this function creates and error, that is also causing some people to then not be able to Sign Up at all. Deleting the app, and re-installing seems to fix this, remembering then to simply first sign up BEFORE trying to Log In.
Export Cancelled occurs when you lock your device (or your device goes to sleep). Unfortunately the export process cannot succeed in the background so if your device goes to sleep we cancel the process so the app doesn't crash. We've made sure to keep the app awake when its open however if you manually lock it, export will be cancelled. We apologize and are currently working on a fix.
Yes, if you delete a video or make a video private in YouTube* that will remove it from VIDIAL.
You can sign up for a VIDIAL account when you first open the application. You will be prompted to enter your email, and to create a username and password, or by using your Facebook account. If you log out of the app, you will be prompted to log back in to proceed to using the application.
All navigation begins on the discover page. From here you can swipe left or right to move to the, ‘Connect’, ‘Create’, ‘Ideas’, and ‘Support’ functions.
No. Currently, you can’t add additional sounds and mixes within the app. However, you can export your finished product and add further effects and digital processing via your phone or computer.
The default setting for VIDIAL is ‘Landscape’ because it allows for better quality videos. ‘Landscape’ is framed better (avoiding vertical black bars when uploaded to YouTube*) and allows the video filters to function to a greater degree, giving you the best quality video possible.
You can access the tutorials at anytime while editing the audio or video of your recording. When on the editing screen, simply tap the ‘Question Mark’ icon in the top right hand corner of the screen for the corresponding audio or video editing tutorial.
There are currently no in app purchases for VIDIAL.
Perform Mode is a feature that allows you to “play” your performance and customize the effects of that filter, as the video progresses (dynamic changes), rather than the filter being static for your whole performance. You can access Perform Mode when you are on the editing screen for either your audio or video. Simply tap on the icon located on the bottom left side of the screen.
The following devices are fully supported by VIDIAL: • iPhone* 5s, 6, 6 Plus, SE, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus (+ any future devices) • iPad* Mini 2, Mini 3, Mini 4, Air, Air 2, Pro 9.7” and 12.9” (+ any future devices) • iPod* Touch 6th Gen (+ any future devices)
Currently, VIDIAL is not available on Android*.
Facebook* has been temporarily removed form direct exporting due to issues with exporting large video sizes. Once this issue is resolved, we will allow for direct export to the social platform. However, you can store your VIDIAL on your device, or export it to a storage application such as DropBox*, iCloud* or Google Drive* and from there upload it to Facebook* (or any other social platform you prefer).
You can provide feedback in the app by going to the 'Ideas' feature on the main navigation bar. Once on the 'Ideas' screen, simply touch 'Suggest' and provide your feedback.
You can record ('Capture') up to 5 minutes at a time.
This happens when we don't have permissions to access your files on Dropbox*. To correct this go into the Dropbox* app and give VIDIAL permissions to access your files (we only use it to find Videos and then download the video of your choosing for editing within the app, we collect no other information about your Dropbox* account). If that doesn't work, capture a small video, click export and then click the Dropbox* icon. Then click your name to log out and log in again.
There's two ways. The first is on import, just tap the "Signed In as: [Your name]". The second way is on the dropbox* export screen, just tap your email address and you'll be logged out.
Currently, no. A big part of VIDIAL is getting discovered and discovering other musicians. You are welcome to use the app without participating in the social features, just export to Photos.
This happens when we don't have the correct permissions to save to your camera roll. Please check your settings and ensure VIDIAL has access to write to your photos.
This can occur on videos that have been recorded with very high quality devices (e.g iPhone* 7, DSLR imports, etc). We do this to ensure that your experience is smooth and sometimes some quality can be lost in the compression. In our tests we were able to reduce file size as much 60% allowing for quicker processing, uploading and viewing. The downside is some of the videos can look slightly worse if you zoom in. We're working on a balance of quality and file size however we built this app for you so please let us know what you think and we'll do our best to exceed your expectations.
